December - Playing with penny & Protecting capital

Didn't buy a lot this month because I kept having flu, on and off at times. Plus the big stomach has made me so uncomfortable sitting in front of the computer. Most of the time just monitor using hubby's ipad when lying on bed :) Anyway, most activities was done early of the month mainly to protect my capital before year end...

I missed a lot of chances this month, reasons are because I didn't dare to take risk + weren't patient enough. Need to be more disciplined next year.

GER - IPO experience

Second time playing with IPO, my first time was with MIT and I was not able to hold long enough that time due to some reason, needed to use the capital for other important thing. To me buying IPO stock is like gambling, because there's no historical data, it's thrilling but exciting though...

Thought I was wiped out this time like previously, but finally I am able to close all my GER for a 4 digits profit, super happy. However, I may not dare to try this again anytime soon...

YHM - penny experience

My very first time trying penny stock and it was like having a heart attack :-s Though it was not too bad after my buy order was processed, but I could see it became weaker while the market was very bullish, which is strange... I was hoping for a 3 digits profit but after 3 days waiting and saw it dropping, i decided to get out as fast as possible. Not too bad as I still earning some kopi money (blame the high commission charge that take away almost half of my profit) but any single dollar counts.

Lesson learned: One good thing about penny stock is that it is very cheap, so a small capital can help you own 100lots easily. But if anything happens, everything is gone. So you need to close it as fast as possible. I may not dare to take risk like this again, my heart is weak :))

AG - no patience

I jumped in AG at a very high price last month because I wanted to chase this stock for dividend. This is a stupid direction, because after XD, price will be adjusted anyway. For bad stock, it will keep dropping madly, only some strong one can recover after a period of time. Luckily AG is not too bad, it still can recover at some point. But once again, I made a mistake because of impatience. After holding for sometime, I let go when it starts to rise sob sob. I didn't lose anything from this, just don't earn any extra money besides the dividend. Capital gain is just enough to pay the commission rate. But well, happy enough because at least I am able to protect my capital before year end.

SMRT - finally gone

This is the first stock appeared in my account, the price is good at the beginning. However, after they started to have problem with the trains, price dropped significantly. I still hold it as dividend stock. But SMRT has had very weird chart recently, can't really track it based on TA. Thus, after calculating and holding for quite long, I decided to let go this stock because the dividend is not attractive enough compare to all the troubles SMRT need to handle in near future. Fixed my escape price just enough to pay for commission, and it shot up today. I didn't monitor it, so just let go at my fixed price, it is quite low compare to the day high, but who knows how high can it goes. Seems like someone is manipulating it at background... Anyway, in total I earned 3% from dividend after holding for almost a year, not good but at least it has survived :) Will use this capital to look for a better dividend stock.

Genting - loss turn into profit

This is not my stock, I was just helping hubby to close it. His requirement is simple - escape without loss. I monitored and averaged the stock when it went down in mid Nov, not at the lowest price but good enough. So after almost 1.5months waiting, I finally can close it with a small profit of 3%, better than expected :)
